Telecoms Cost Recovery - Wessex Water

OUR BRIEF

Wessex Water sought the assistance of PCMG to carry out a review of historical and current Telecoms costs to further increase efficiency by reducing operating expenditure.

OUR WORK

Complex Telecoms Estates

Complex tariff and billing structures mean that organisations routinely end up paying more than they should or are charged for services they don't actually receive - without even being aware of it. PCMG experts, using proprietary technology, undertook a full forensic analysis of Wessex Water’s billing and usage to identify overpayments and recover costs.

A full audit of billing and contracts was carried out, going back six years to identify errors. This was followed by a comprehensive and formal report on the most efficient way to recover overpayments and achieve future savings.

FROM IDENTIFICATION TO NEGOTIATION

Significant refunds and savings were identified representing 17% of Wessex Water’s annual spend overall. The most substantial errors were identified within Wessex Water’s data network, including distance errors and automatic migration errors. PCMG was able to identify these errors using expert knowledge and proprietary software relating to Telecoms data network infrastructure.

PCMG managed all negotiations with Wessex Water’s suppliers, driving each refund and saving claim from identification through to implementation and completion.

  • £74,000 refunds achieved
  • £15,000 annual savings achieved

"PCMG were able to use their expertise to identify errors within our Telecoms billing that cannot be identified by simply checking our prices against contracts and price lists. PCMG’s service was non-intrusive and saved us a lot of time, as they managed all the data collation, analysis and supplier negotiation."
